One Estate Solution help special needs families in setting up special needs trust, funding of the trust and will writing in Singapore since 2015. However late last year, our clients started asking us questions outside of our expertise. (Examples: 1. How tolerant is the law when come to ASD/special needs children breaking it? 2. How can traditional Chinese medicine help children with ASD? 3. Are ASD children allowed to travel by planes?)
And we thought, why not help them find answers and put it all in a book that is easily accessible to them. It is already very tough taking care of a child with special needs. Why not make their lives easier? This is how the book LIFE'S MISSING MANUAL FOR FAMILIES WITH AUTISTIC CHILDREN was conceptualised.

Hear from our contributors
We started compiling questions from parents and then seek out experts who can answer them. As of now, we have over 100+ questions and 20 contributors made up of lawyers, psychologists, teachers and hypnotherapists who offered to answer them.
This book will be published in August through self-funding but it was very touching to have contributors who offered to pool in funds to publish the book as they want this book to be in the hands of every autism family in Singapore.
AutismSTEP has always been taking part in platforms that has initiatives of wanting to provide parents of autistic children a one stop service hub. Our strengths are one to one home based behavioral (ABA) therapy, one to one home based speech therapy and school shadowing.
As every child is different, we strongly feel that parents should first understand the area that their child needs help in and then find a therapy service that cater to those needs. With this book, we hope to widen parent’s knowledge on the different services and also how it can help their children and thus providing the appropriate intervention, not losing the window of golden opportunity for early intervention.
I believe this book provides a range of services available and insights that can stimulate into discerning discussions that leads to the widen access to literature holistically and can impact individuals positively. It is consequently, a good reminder to look on the side of our daily challenges.
It’s amazing to watch children, as they go from innocent ignorance about their peers with Autism to excitement as they learn how to be better friend. This avails to open up and greatly support the families of special needs children where there is a serious desire across so many communities to learn more about Autism. It would be the pleasure for Mind Culture Pte Ltd to further contribute to the perpetuated magnification and prosperity of the book in sundry way possible!
